Men's Wedding Bands

Men's wedding bands are worn long after the ceremony, so the band itself is the design. It is either plain, or set with a row of stones across the face. Widths run 3.5mm to 8mm. Wider bands put more of the inside against the finger. Rounded on the inside, with softened edges, the band slides over the knuckle and settles. The outside takes a high polish, a brushed matte, or a subtle texture. Plain or set, every band comes out of our own workshop.

FAQs

The right width depends on the hand, how much the band should show, and what the hand does all day. 6mm is the most common choice. Bands from 4mm to 6mm sit quietly, while 8mm reads as a statement. Each band is made to order in the width you choose.
Any band worn daily picks up fine marks, and a wedding band is worn every day. A high polish reflects the most light, so marks show up there first. A brushed or textured finish scatters light instead, which keeps the surface looking even. Gentle cleaning with mild soap and a soft cloth is enough.
Plain or set is a question of how much the band should show. A plain band leaves the shape and the finish as the only detail, which suits anyone who would rather the ring go unnoticed. A band set with a row of gemstones across the face catches light and reads as deliberate.
Yes. Engraving is available on the inside of the band, where it sits against the finger and stays out of sight. A date, initials, or a short line are the usual choices. The outside is left plain, so the finish runs uninterrupted.
The difference is the inside profile. A standard band is flat across the inside, so the edge meets the finger at a sharper angle. A comfort fit band is rounded, with softened edges, so it slides on easily and reduces friction. Wider bands, and hands that swell in heat, benefit most.
It can stay on through most of the day, but a few situations call for taking it off. Gym work, swimming, and washing dishes are the usual three, since a ring can catch on equipment or sit in water. Heavy manual work belongs on the same list. Everything else, it stays on.
Usually, yes. A band can be cut, adjusted, and joined again, which is what resizing takes. A band with a plain section at the back is straightforward. A band set with stones all the way around cannot be resized, because there is no bare section to work with.
In North America and the United Kingdom, men wear it on the fourth finger of the left hand. The choice is custom rather than anatomy. The old story about a vein running between that finger and the heart is not true, which does not stop the custom. Left-handed men sometimes move the ring to the right hand to keep it out of the way.
Start with what he already wears. Someone who never wears jewelry tends to do better with a narrower band and a rounded inside, because neither takes getting used to. Someone who likes being noticed can carry a wider band or a row of stones across the face. His ring size matters as much as the style.
Width, stone count, setting and finish move the price most. A 4mm plain band and an 8mm band with a row of stones sit at opposite ends of what the same design costs. Material, craftsmanship and brand account for the rest of the difference between shops.
